What is acid rain?

When sulphur dioxide (SO₂) gas is released into the air, it rises up and reacts with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) of the clouds. As a result of this reaction, sulphuric acid (H2SO4) is produced. This sulphuric acid falls back down to Earth. This phenomenon is known as acid rain. The acid rain can have devastating effects on plants, animals, and buildings, etc.
